Holly Horne Carlisle

This is my friend Holly and we have been friends since her dad came to Immanuel to be our pastor. We became friends when our babysitter Ms. Connie Cantrell, god rest her soul, took us and her sisters parading around Little Rock dressed up in full clown attire. I am still not sure why we did this but it was really fun at the time. Holly has a younger brother Truett, and he so badly wanted to join in the fun so he had his parents dress him up like a clown dog complete with a studded collar and leash. Anyway, Holly and I share a lot of inside jokes and other things. We have a set of shows we love to watch and usually I will go to her house and spend some QT with Abby Anne. She loves to say "Mawee". Holly is a good wonderful mommy and cares so much her children....did I mention she is having TWINS. Wow, I can't wait. I am thinking that Baby A is a girl and Baby B is a boy. I don't think Stephen agrees with me.

Holly is very talented and has a very beautiful voice. She sings to Abby Anne all the time and I think she has a great voice, too. Last night she loved singing Oo-E-Oo-Ah-Ah-ting-tang-walla-walla-bing-bang. I also like it when she sings C is for Cookie. I hope everyone enjoys my friends I know that I do!!! Have a great Tuesday, and a Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Foot Fashion Show!!!

Today my Pre-K kids and my friend Lauren's class did a "Foot Fashion Show" in honor of Dr. Seuss birthday. We read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. We had 2 classes come and make a catwalk and then our kids each took a turn walking the runway!!! We played music from High School Musical 3. I told my kids to sell their shoes to the audience and they did perfect. A few even did some turns and pointed to their shoes during the show. It's days like this I can go home and say that I truly love my job and everything that goes along with it. When I have fun the kids have fun and I love seeing them having a blast!! A kid in Lauren's class did the robot all the way down the runway, too cute!! We closed out the show with Ms. Edwards the art teacher strutting her stuff down the runway. All in all a fun time was had by all!!

Emily Alison Eisenach

Emily is one of my true friends. For some reason in 1999 we started calling each other "true friends" instead of the term "best friends". Emily and I met when she was in the 9th grade and I was a senior and we were on a mission trip to Charleston. She had just moved to LR and she was a loud goofy girl that loved to have fun. We hit it off. It wasn't until she was a senior that we really started to become good friends. I was friends with this guy (Kyle) and he really liked Emily and kinda wanted me to hang with her often so that he could. I told him pretty much that he probably didn't stand a chance, but I did what he asked. Every time I would hang with E he would come along. Well, now they are married and expecting a baby in September. I think I should get some sort of credit for this union. Believe it on not this is one of 3 of bridesmaids that met their husbands through me in one way of the other.

Emily is one of those that I don't talk to everyday but when we talk we pick up right where we left off. She is my friend that tells me like it is and always has some encouraging words. She has a little boy named Noah who is too cute. She is a nurse and I always ask her questions about life at the hospital and if she saved any lives.....you see I don't do hospitals, but I find it interesting.

I can't wait to see what this next baby is going to be....her sisters each have 3 boys so I know a boy is not out of the question, but I am thinking it's a girl.

Friend of the week: Lindsey Blair Keeton

My best friend Lindsey is getting married in just a few short weeks. March 21st to be exact! This past weekend we had 2 showers for LBK and they were both wonderful. On Saturday morning she had a kitchen and recipe shower and then that night we had a couples tool shower. It was fun to see people that I hadn't seen in years. Linsdey is so funny because she hates attention and never wants things to be about her. (This is a quality that I admire about her) She gets really stressed about opening presents when people are watching. I on the other hand was completely opposite. Her and BJ got lots of neat things and she wasn't too nervous.
That's when it hit me....Lindsey is really getting married and she is really going to move to Lake Village. I knew this would happen, but it has always seemed so far away. It is happening in 3 weeks and I must say I don't know how I am going to hold up. She has always either lived with me or 2 miles down the street. I am sort of freaking out!!! I am not a big fan of change and this is one of those big changes that I will learn to live with. I am also worried about how she is going to hold up...a little background when she and I moved into our apartment in LR she didn't move her stuff in for like 2 months, and then when her stuff can she stayed at her house more times than not. She loves being home with her dogs Paisley, Tupilo, and Bailey and her cat Lizard. She said if I ever ran over Lizard we would never be friends again. HAHA
I could go on forever about our friendship, but I am truly happy for her she deserves this happiness!! I want to write about one friend a week, so hopefully I'll stick to it!!
I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!!! The Lord knows just who you need in your life and I am glad Lindsey is one of those for me.

Matt Kenseth!!

As many of you know my husband is the biggest Matt Kenseth fan ever. Well, this past Sunday Matt Kenseth won the Daytona 500!!! I don't know who was more excited Matt or Kevin. I am not going to say that he cried but I think we know haha!! When Kevin and I started dating I too became a fan of the black and yellow! I was very excited that Matt won, but I was more excited to watch Kevin. He was jumping up and down and couldn't wipe the smile off his face for anything. I would do anything for Kevin to actually meet Matt Kenseth, but I don't know if Kevin could handle it. We have been to several races and seen him from afar but I honestly don't think it would be safe for us to get any closer. I was glad that when Matt won he thanked his personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I told Kevin one day they would get to meet in heaven!!! I am glad that will happen someday! Kevin has so much MK stuff it is unreal.....he tries to convince me it would be ok to display his things, but for now they are hidden in a closet and that is where they are going to stay. Happy Wednesday!

Please pray!!!

My family has a friend from church named Allen Smith. His family is truly amazing and they are going through a terrible storm right now. Mr. Allen had some problems back in August that left him in the hospital for about a month with some problems that never could really be diagnosed. Through much prayer and the strength of the Lord, he came through like a champ. It was one of God's miracles that I believed I witnessed. Well fast forward to now and they are in the same boat again. Please pray for his strength and for strength for his wife and children. It breaks me knowing they are dealing with all this again, and no one really knows why. Well, God knows and He is the healer and I pray for peace that passes all understanding for them. Please lift them up!!!

Funny things about ME!

I have been noticing lately how everyone has little quirks that only they have and I think it is funny to hear about how other people are so here are some funny things about me! Keep in mind I am only child so maybe this has a lot to do with my ways!!!

I have never jumped off a diving board.

I never had cable until I moved out of my parents house when I was 21. They got cable the following year!!

I was terrified that my parents might win the publisher's clearing house. Then my dad wouldn't work at church and mom wouldn't teach school. Seriously, I would hide the stamp thing when it came in the mail.

I am pretty much a fearful person..... to list a few:
elevators
wouldn't ride on a boat till I was 18!
any ride at Disney World....at 8 I told my parents to go have fun I'll just wait on this bench.
Mormons-don't' ask long story
lake water
getting water in my ears

My parents didn't listen to the radio in the car so we had the Baptist Hymnal I memorized almost everyone.

I visualize everything....including how people look before I meet them, and what people's houses look before I see them.

I put on my left shoe before I put on my right.

I used to want to be a cashier at Kroger.

I said I would never be a teacher, or go to UALR....i did both

I love the way the scissors sound when they cut the fabric at Hancocks.

I miss the way my grandparents false teeth sounded when they chewed food. HAHA it sounded like a tick tick tick!

I loved sleeping in my parents room...i would write them a note saying can I sleep in your room check yes or no and I would run away.

I never thought I wouldn't make drill team. When I didn't in 8th grade I told my parents...this can't be happening to me. I made it the next year!!

I lied to all my elementary friends telling them I had an air conditioned tree house with a water bed. I wanted to fit in!

In the swimming pool while most people were swimming I was baptizing all my friends.

I thought Jesus was the women who took up the offering in church. My parents said we give money to Jesus and she is who I gave my money to so I thought that was who Jesus was.

I made my mom talk to me in a little girl voice. I called her Little Rebecca!!!

Getting new KEDS shoes was my favorite summer outing.

I would sing hymns to my friends on the playground at school!

I had to count to 100 every day at nap before I went to sleep.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my little quirks....what are some of yours???
