Thanksgiving!

This is our first family photo since we have been married. This will more than likely be my parents Christmas card photo. We take a photo in front of the fireplace every year. Mom couldn't wait to get Kevin in the picture. You have to know my mom to understand how over the top she is about Thanksgiving. Well, actually any holiday. Kevin is back to work and it has been harder this time. He has worked out of town the whole time we dated, but now that we are married it is different. He should be home on Friday though! We put up our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving and got out some decor! It is so much fun and our tree looks amazing. I will have to post some pics. Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The Macy's Parade was wonderful as always! Kevin now has a new family tradition. He thinks I am nuts when it comes to the parade!

Happy As Can Be!

Well, I don't have any wedding pictures to post just yet, but they will come soon. I can't say how wonderful the wedding was, but I am pretty sure it was perfect!! I had so much fun and was calm and collected during the whole thing. I did cry during my vows, but that's ok! My bridesmaids were so beautiful and helped do everything. I love all you girls and it was an honor to have each of you with me on my special day.

Kevin and I got back on Friday from our honeymoon to the Smokey Mountains! It was amazing I will have to post some pics! It snowed!!!! I loved walking in the snow. I felt like I was in a scene from the movies. Everything went by so fast and seemed to good to be true, but now we get to start our lives together! God has truly blessed us! More pics to come!

Just a few days!!

Just a few more days until the wedding! So this is the wedding week and I have been told it is so much fun, but you will have a breakdown at some point. Well, I had mine other day! Nothing major just a mild stress! Getting everything put away and getting my house ready for Kevin. I am so excited about getting all the wedding festivites started!! My bachelorette party was this past weekend. It was so much fun, but I was in bed at 11!! Emily and Lindsey had a great time!HAHA! Ask them about all the fun they had. I believe they tried to go swimming in the outdoor unheated pool!! Well, this is probably my last post being Miss McKnight!! Mrs. Strom will be back after the honeymoon! Have blessed day!

Election Day

Today is a big day for our country!!! We will have a new president at days end. I am always a little scared of change, but I know that everything is in God's hands. Voting is very important and I hope that everyone will get out and vote! Don't think that your vote doesn't matter because it is your only voice. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and may God's Will be done!

Pumpkins!!

Last Friday night I was babysitting for my cousin and in their house were the cutest pumpkins. I asked her where she got the idea and she said Martha Stewart....of course. Anyway, I wanted to make them with my class keep in mind they are 4. I was so excited so on Tuesday when I got to school I started making these. It took me 30 minutes to make the first one. I then decided that this would not work so I threw in the towel. I was coached not to give up and so I pressed one. My aide and I folded all of paper to make the pumpkin and I let the kids draw the eyes and then we put the faces on. I usually do crafts that are more kid friendly, but come on they were too cute not to do. It was a lot of work but now they are hanging in my class and look fabulous. My children said, "wow, those look so pretty. All in all it was worth it. This would also be cute for your house. I think I am going to make a few more for my house!!! One Month From Today!!!

So in one month from today I will be married. It is hard to think about anything else other than wedding!!! I am doing my best at getting thank you notes written. As Kevin likes to say, "30 a day will keep Jana away". This is so true. My mom is the thank you note queen. She writes them all the time and for everything. I did not get this gene apparently, but I am trying.

As many of you know I am an only child and this has it perks and at times can be a downfall. I am learning how to share my parents love with Kevin and I am not sure how I feel about it. HAHA no I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents, but they have always been only mine and I don't share them. Now that good ole Kevin has come along I notice that everything he does is right and what I do is wrong. Maybe this is just a phase who knows. I think it is because my parents never had a son and they think Kevin has just completed that for them. I have always been the apple of their eye and now Kevin has stolen some of the spotlight. Honestly though, I am so pleased and wouldn't have it any other way. I say all of this to say the Lord truly does have a plan for everyone and He doesn't forget the little details. The Lord knew I needed to be with someone who would make me rely on them and not my parents and He knew my parents wanted someon else to spoil. He also knew that Kevin wanted the best in-laws. I am not kidding he is very lucky!!! I think I am the luckiest though. The Bible says I man will leave his father and mother and cleve to his wife. (this will be the hard part for me) but I am going into the arms of someone who will take just as good of care as my parents have.

How I Met Kevin!

One of my friends asked me to blog about how I met Kevin so I hope you enjoy! The very first time I ever laid eyes on Mr. Kevin Strom was about 8 years ago at a baseball field in Jacksonville. I was there watching one of my friends "Dayton" play baseball. I happen to notice the 3rd baseman and thought he was very attractive I believe I said "wow he is hot". Anyway, I told Dayton that day that I thought his friend was really hot. I never in a million years would have thought I would be engaged to him.

As the years passed I would see him around and even hung out with him on occasion but never really anything major. I had my eyes on other "people" haha. Every time we would hang out Kevin would tell all his friends that he thought I didn't like him. I other hand was just too distracted to think about him. I never gave it a thought. So, in June of 06 I was really down in the dumps about pretty much everything. I prayed to the Lord that He would just take all of my distractions away and when he was ready for me to meet someone it would just happen. On July 27th of that year I was turning 27 and wanted to have a huge party (sidebar: I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY) I had planned like 4 parties that year. One night we were all going to Ernie Biggs and I told all my friends to come and bring friends. Kevin was one of those friends. We ended up riding together with some of our friends. I decided that I was just going to hang out with him all night, so that is exactly what I did. I whispered to one of friend that I thought Kevin was cute and she said "oh he thinks your cute, too". So from that day on we texted back and forth and hung out when he was in town. To go back in time I had once told a girl who was dating him that she was stupid and that she needed to get over him. He was just a player and no girl needed that. HAHA a few months later there I was dating him.

I had told the Lord the next person who comes in my life would be the man I would marry. I didn't want anyone in my life who might hurt me, so my guard was up for a very long time. The Lord revealed to me that all things in your past happen for a reason and it makes you stronger. We learn from it and move forward. The night I was sold on Kevin we were at a friends house about to eat dinner and Kevin said lets all form and circle and pray. His prayer was amazing and spoke to me. Who knew praying over mac and cheese would be such a big deal. I felt the Lord tell me right then....Molly, this is the one I have made for you!

Kevin proposed to me on Valentine's Day! I never expected a thing considering he hates that day. He says you should love everyday. I was at school and my dad called and said for me to come and sign my tax forms. He asked me to meet him in the balcony of the church. I thought that's odd, but ok. When I rounded the corner my dad was nowhere to be found. Much to my surprise Kevin was standing there with rose petals leading the way to him and candles. He asked me to come and sit in our pew that we sit in every Sunday. He said this is the place were we love to be with each other the most and he got down on one knee and popped the question. I couldn't believe it. I was crying shaking all that good stuff. He planned the whole thing and my parents were there to help with the little details. It is all on DVD!!!

I thank God everyday for bringing us together! In His time all things work together!

My Fall Candle!

I am so excited about this new fall candle I got a few days ago. This isn't an exact photo of my candle but it will do. One of my favorite smells in the world is Fall. Fall does have a smell in case you were wondering. Well, I was out shopping the other day and I ran across a Mainstays "Mulled Cider" candle. I couldn't wait to get it home and let my house smell of Fall. I placed one in my classroom because we all know your workplace is where you spend lots of your time. I put the other in my bedroom. Now I am obsessed with my bedroom and I can't wait to go to school and turn on my candle warmer. Someone today came in my room and said wow your room smells so good. I couldn't help but smile. So, if any of you want to smell the best fall smell go get you a Mulled Cider Mainstay candle and breathe in the fresh air!!!!

Shower Invitation!!

This is my shower invitation to my school shower. I thought it was really cute so I wanted to put it up on my blog. This was made through scrapblog of course. I am very excited about this shower! I hope everyone gets to com and have a good time. As many of you know I am somewhat obsessed with my 3 M's so I am glad they used that. I am very sad about having to drop an M for an S but that's ok. Wedding Shower Pictures!

This weekend was my wedding shower at Immanuel! I had so much fun, but I think my mom had more fun than anyone there. Kevin and I got to go and open presents the night before and eat some yummy BBQ! I am still in shock over all the gifts and overwhelmed about how to write that many "thank yous". Kevin thinks we might need a bigger house and some extra insurance! Thanks so much to everyone who came I truly appreciated having you there!

Eat Chili's for childhood cancer!!

Many of you may know that I follow some little kids on some Caringbridge websites and I am touched by each one of their stories. Each one is unique and each one has touched my life in a special way. I honestly don't know any of them and they live all over the US, but through their care pages I feel like I know them so well. On Monday, September 29th Chili's is doing a thing where if you eat there all the proceeds go to St. Jude. So don't cook on Monday and have a night out at Chili's!! Hope to see you there!

Our Engagement Announcement!!

This is the announcement that we in the Benton paper on Sunday! If you don't know I grew up in Bryant and mom worked there for many years, so she wanted to put it in their paper. Kevin doesn't like this picture, but guess what he didn't help me choose of course I chose one where I looked good. He says he is going to have to learn that when women pick out pictures they only check for how they look in a picture. HAHA! He is learning quickly. Also, this Saturday is my big church shower at Immanuel. I am kinda nervous, but I am sure it will all be fine. This wedding stuff is so much fun!

The Home Depot

This past weekend we had our couples tool shower! It was so much fun. Kevin is obsessed with his tool collection, so after getting a few gift cards we woke up Sunday and headed straight for the Home, depot that is! It was kinda like a women going into her favorite department store looking for that special pair of shoes. For Kevin he walked down every isle looking for exactly what he wanted to buy. The night before he had his choices narrowed down to 3. In the long run he didn't get any of those 3 things. I am very excited that he finally got to have his tool shower! Now he can quit asking me when he can buy tools.

This is the last week of Big Brother and as many of you know I am obsessed with BB!! Ok, so these are the last three people left in the game. Jerry, the old man, Memphis, the "mixologist", and Dan, the catholic school teacher. Now, throughout the season I have been a huge Renny and Keesha fan, but at some points in the season I loved Dan. I was sad to see Keesha go, I felt like Memphis just used her, but that is the point of the game so oh well. I think I am going to for Dan at this point in the game!!!

So speaking of the game this is one show I enjoy, but I know that I would never be able to go on. You really have to have a tough backbone and not get upset when you know other people are talking behind your back. Well, if you know me that is a deal breaker for me...I would have my feelings hurt the first day, and would probably cry constantly because someone wouldn't want to talk to me....boo who. Anyways, I do have some friends who I think would be fantastic for this show. If you are reading this you know who you are!!! I really need one of you to apply so that I can know someone on the show and live vicariously through you. So please do me a favor and apply for the show what do you have to lose. Oh, and I have big brother after dark, so you could give me some shout outs!! This sounds like a great plan.

Ok so one of my friends told me about this awesome website called scrapblog.com and as you can see I am going crazy wanting to scrap everything!! I know people say myspace and facebook are addicting, but clearly they have never gone to scrapblog.com. Thank you Effie for showing me a fabulous new hobby! I will put some examples of what I am talking about!!

Wedding Season!!!

Congratulations Dayton and Natalie!!! This weekend one of our best friends got married. I love going to weddings especially when the groom cries. I know for a fact Dayton got chocked up a time or two. He said "Natalie just looked so pretty coming down the isle". This wedding was also touching becasue when Dayton was younger his mother passed away of cancer!! Saturday, in her honor they had a chair with her picture and some flowers seated next to Dayton's dad. The whole family was gathered around and were so proud of him, but in my heart I know that the biggest smile that day was in heaven. I never met his mom but from what I hear Dayton was pretty special in her eyes. Hope you guys have a fun and safe honeymoon!!

Where I am the happiest!!!

As many of you know I bought a house about a year and half ago!! I never knew that owning your own home could be so rewarding. Since I have lived here I can honestly say I hardly ever leave. Already there are so many memories in this house. I look forward to getting off work to come home and just relax!! As many of you know I hate to be alone and I have always been one that goes constantly. However, now I find being alone in my house is a time that I cherish. I can't wait till it is winter again and I can snuggle up in my warm house. There are still so many things I want to do to it, but right now there is just no time. I am busy putting wedding things away and I have found I might need a bigger house. HAHA !!! I can't wait till Kevin and I have everything put together just the way we like it. He is still trying to convince me we need a Matt Kenseth bedroom....I hate to be the one to break it to him, but not happenin... how about a Matt Kenseth garage???? I think that will do for now!!!

First Week of School!!

This is the first week back to school at good ole Terry Elementary!! I was really hoping that I would get a good class this year and so far so good. (cross your fingers) It's crazy how I forget how little they are when they first start school. Getting in a line takes an act of congress, and getting pants ready to go the bathroom is an ever bigger deal. I have one that is terrified of the toliet and refuses to go inside!!! I swear I could write a book of funny stories and this is only year number 5!

I also have to tell myself every minute that patience is hard but you must do it. I also keep telling myself I won't be one of these parents that comes in the first day with tears in their eyes and more nervous than their child, but lets face it they are about to drop off their most prized pocession to someone they hardly know.

Friendships Make Me Smile

This is pretty much my last week of summer and so I am trying my best to live it up to the fullest. Yesterday, my friend Holly called to say that her husband had given her the day off and that we should go and get our toes done and just hang out on her special day. We had a lot of fun just chatting and laughing!! Then last night my best friend Lindsey stopped by for an unexpected visit. We just chit chatted and watched big brother after dark...haha I love this show. We talked about life and our future and it was just really nice to spend quality time with her. I have always tried my best to surround myself with good friends. I hate being by myself as many of you know. I feel like the Lord has truly blessed me with some great friendships. The Lord is so amazing how He puts people in your life at certain times for certain reasons, but it's nice to know that you have those that will stay true forever. Thanks girls for the lovely time yesterday!!!

My First Blog

I have never had a blog before, however, I love reading my friends blogs so I thought to myself why not join in the fun. I turned 29 yesterday and this is going to be fun year for me so I want to share my memories with my friends. I am about to start my 5th year of teaching. I always said I would never be a teacher and now look at me!!! I will say sometimes it is challenging, but it is very rewarding. If you don't believe me come to my class and you will see just how cute a 4 year old mind can be. I wish I had their energy and their innocence.

29 will also be the age I am when I get married. I am very excited about getting married. I am one of those girls that has had the wedding planned since I put on my first dress. I have dreamed of this fairy tale for so long in my head and I can't wait to see how it plays out. We are having our first shower this coming weekend. I am so excited my family has a cousins weekend at the lake and we will have our shower in the middle of our fun weekend.
