Old Timey Pictures!!!

The lady on the left if my Aunt Ruby Rosebud Robinson Greenway she died this past Sunday she was 101!!! Isn't that amazing what a wonderful life.
This is my mom and one of her friends when she was in Jr. High. Mom is on the left.
This is my grandmommy with her 3 children.... Uncle Johnny, Aunt Diane, and my mom.

I love looking at old pictures. I think that they look amazing in houses framed and all put worn and tattered. I found these pictures of my mom and some of my family. I think they are priceless. My parents have so many old photos and I know one day they will be mine and I will treasure them. I am trying to think of a project I can do in my house with some of these old photographs. Any ideas????

Before I turn 30 I want to......

This July I will be turning 30!!! I remember back when my aunt was turning 30 and I thought wow that is so old. Well, now that I am less than 6 months away from the big 3-0 I don't think it is that old. However, I used to have a list of things I have never done and want to do before my 30th birthday....I wanted to share a few of those with you. I better get busy I don't have much time.....
  • jump off of a diving board
  • read the entire Bible cover to cover
  • go to a major league baseball game
  • volunteer at a soup kitchen
  • go see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center
  • get a full body massage
  • learn more than one song on my guitar i have had since i was 21
  • write some sort of children's book
  • go to Paris
  • pay for a random strangers meal
  • learn to cook...haha
  • learn to knit
  • golf
  • plant a flower garden

Well these are just a few I hope get around to some of them. What are some things you would like to do. Have a blessed day!

My thoughts on American Idol.....

I love American Idol, but I will say I like some seasons better than others. I happen to like this season. So let me give my opinion on who I like and don't like....I know that I am no Simon, so my opinion doesn't matter, but that's ok!! So here they are in the order that I like them.

1. Kris- not just because he is from Arkansas. He is really good and I would buy his CD he gives me chills almost every time I hear him sing.
2. Anoop- not your typical idol, but has that really soft ballad voice I love.
3. Danny- I love his sweet story. His voice is really amazing, and I can actually see him being a Christian singer.
4. Allison- I am not a huge fan, the hair kinda scares me, but all in all her voice is really powerful.
5. Matt- if I can get past the...well I am not going to say that...anyway he has a good voice, but I can live without it.
6. Lil- She can sing, but she sounds like any other person who can sing.
7. Adam- Ole Adam,...I know people just love him and he probably will win, but I just don't see what the fuss is all about....after he completely butchered Johnny Cash, I just never liked him.
I can't wait to see the results tonight!!! I am always so nervous isn't that silly!!! Who are your favorites???

Happy Birthday to my favorite April Fool!!!!

Happy Birthday Love!!! 28 years ago today my little April Fool was born. I think it is very fitting that he has this birthday! He is quite the funny guy if you know him, or as you can see in the above photos. I am very grateful to his mother for bringing him into this world. I could go on and on about how wonderful I think he is, but let's be honest we just don't have that many hours in the day. I love to be the first person to tell my friends Happy Birthday, so I insisted that he stay awake until midnight so that I could be the first. ....well we were both exhausted so that didn't happen, but first thing this morning I called him and was the first!!!! He is out of town and working on his birthday so I don't get to be with him. He loves UFC and tonight is free fight on TV...very fitting I hope he enjoys this birthday present from Dana White...I told him I set the whole thing up haha! Kevin and I are horrible at surprises and we have never been able to surprise each other on birthday's or on Christmas! I have to do better! I hope everyone has a great April Fool's Day!!!!

Spring Break Recap....

I love being a teacher for lots of reason, but the biggest is Spring Break, Christmas Break, and Summer Break. I mean it is a huge perk of the job. This spring break I decided that I wanted to stay home and do nothing. Lindsey got married the Saturday before, and it was beautiful. It was an outdoor wedding it was rainy at first but it all worked out and a good time was had by all. I must say when she and BJ drove away the tears were flowing!!! Kevin was a huge help with all the wedding things, he was like one of the girls.
We got home on Sunday and we decided that I would take him back to Kansas so that I could spend some QT with him. Him working out of town is really hard on us newlyweds. I will say however, that the minute my car passed the Kansas border a hailstorm followed by tornado's happened while we were driving. If you know me you know I completely freaked out and Kevin was second guessing what he had married. I called my parents for some prayer support. To say my mom has a "hot" line to the big JC himself is an understatement. She prays believing and it is amazing. The minute she started praying the clouds parted and a huge rainbow appeared. It was a true miracle. The rest of my stay in Kansas was great. I came home on Thursday. I had a few days to relax!! Needless to say I sort of threw a fit this morning when my alarm went off. Hope this finds you have a blessed day!!!

Holly Horne Carlisle

This is my friend Holly and we have been friends since her dad came to Immanuel to be our pastor. We became friends when our babysitter Ms. Connie Cantrell, god rest her soul, took us and her sisters parading around Little Rock dressed up in full clown attire. I am still not sure why we did this but it was really fun at the time. Holly has a younger brother Truett, and he so badly wanted to join in the fun so he had his parents dress him up like a clown dog complete with a studded collar and leash. Anyway, Holly and I share a lot of inside jokes and other things. We have a set of shows we love to watch and usually I will go to her house and spend some QT with Abby Anne. She loves to say "Mawee". Holly is a good wonderful mommy and cares so much her children....did I mention she is having TWINS. Wow, I can't wait. I am thinking that Baby A is a girl and Baby B is a boy. I don't think Stephen agrees with me.

Holly is very talented and has a very beautiful voice. She sings to Abby Anne all the time and I think she has a great voice, too. Last night she loved singing Oo-E-Oo-Ah-Ah-ting-tang-walla-walla-bing-bang. I also like it when she sings C is for Cookie. I hope everyone enjoys my friends I know that I do!!! Have a great Tuesday, and a Happy St. Patty's Day!!!
